Standard operations are the mother of improvement. We can never say that the standard operations we now have are the best, and there is no room for further improvement. Standard operations are the result of improvement after improvement, and they are not static or unchanging. Consider for a moment that the present standards are full of waste, and begin immediately to make improvements.
